Introduction

This page is dedicated to helping you understand all the functions and features within the Client Search screen. The client search screen can be accessed through Eclipse Stock & Accounting and the Eclipse CRM modules and has multiple actions that can be performed in it.

 

Understanding the Client Search Screen

The 'Client Search' screen is what pops up when you click the Client search button from Eclipse Stock & Accounting or Eclipse CRM. There are 3 main section to this screen:

 

 1.     The 'Search Criteria' section is you can enter the criteria you will be searching on at least 1 of these criteria need to be searched on, either a Stock #/Service Vehicle #, Rego, VIN/Chassis, Client #, Client Name or Client Phone Number. Once you have entered your search criteria hit the Search button to bring up your results or if you have made a mistake you can hit the Clear button to clear the screen.

 

 2.     The 'Search Results' section is where the results of your search will appear. There are 3 tabs within this section - All Vehicles: this tab will show all vehicles that the client you have searched on is linked to. (eg; a vehicle sold to this client through Stock & Accounting and any service vehicle this customer has brought in for a service). Stock & Accounting Vehicles: this tab will only show vehicles that are linked to this client through Eclipse Stock & Accounting (eg; a vehicle or multiple vehicles that have been sold to this client). Service Vehicles: this tab will show service vehicles that are linked to this client through Eclipse Service (eg; a vehicle or multiple vehicles this client has brought into your business for a service).

 

 3.     The 'Actions' section has a variety of tasks/shortcuts that will allow you to do multiple actions to the client you have highlighted in the search results section. Client Tasks: these tasks are all related to the client. (eg; editing the clients information, recording communication with this client or even adding in a client). Stock & Accounting Tasks: these tasks are related to Stock & Accounting vehicle that is linked to the client. (eg; edit the vehicles details, edit the sale linked to this customer or even add a sale for this client you have searched on). Service Tasks: these tasks are related to the Service vehicle that is linked to the client. (eg; check their service history, make a new service booking for this client, edit their current service vehicle or even add a new service vehicle for this client you have searched on).

 

 

Searching within the Client Search Screen

 

 

 

 

When searching within the 'Client Search' screen you can enter in 1 of the required criteria to search on and hit the search button. Any results that are brought back will be displayed in the bottom half of the screen (as displayed in the example to the right).

 

 1.     In this example the search criteria we used was the clients last name.

 

 2.     In the search results section it shows that this client has 2 vehicles. One being linked to Stock & Accounting (the second vehicle). You can tell this because it is linked to a stock number. The first vehicle is a service vehicle only because it has a service vehicle number (Srvc#) and is not linked to a stock number.
