STP2 Status

AS AT 9 JUNE 2022

Our STP2 ready version (V7.6) is available for download.

Eclipse Payroll is now fully certified with the ATO for Single Touch Payroll Phase 2 (STP2).

Eclipse Payroll users will need to transition their Payroll setup to handle and start using STP2 sometime prior to 31 OCTOBER 2022.

You can begin the transition process when it suits you. We have prepared detailed STP2 Transition Instructions to help you to do this. Please review these instructions before activating any STP2 features.

If you cannot transition by 31 OCTOBER 2022 you must contact the UBS Support Team and advise them as early as possible as we will need to extend STP1 support for you.
You may also need to request an extension from the ATO and we will advise on this.

STP2 Changes Overview

STP2 brings the following changes to Payroll processing in Eclipse:

  • Disaggregation of Gross. We are now required to supply the ATO with a specific breakdown of what makes up a persons’ Gross wage. This requires changes to the way the following elements are reported:
    • Gross
    • Allowances
    • Overtime
    • Paid Leave
    • Deductions
    • Salary Sacrifice
    • Lump Sums
    • ETPs
  • Superannuation reporting changes
  • Inclusion of new Employment data:
    • Employment Basis
    • Cessation Reason
    • Tax Treatment
    • Withholding Offset
  • Child Support reporting changes

The main effect of these changes in Eclipse Payroll is the way Allowances, Deductions and Leaves are configured. Each Eclipse Payroll site will need to transition to the new STP2 rules for these items. This will require the Payroll Administrator at each Eclipse Payroll site to execute a number of specific conversion tasks prior to cutting over to STP2 processing logic.

These conversion tasks are:

  • Changing each Allowance to conform to STP2 rules.
  • Changing each Deduction to conform to STP2 rules.
  • Changing each Leave to conform to STP2 rules.
  • Changing Employees so they are set up correctly.
  • Checking and confirming that Employees are being paid correctly once the preceding changes have been performed.

STP2 Timeline for Eclipse Payroll

Presently we are working with the ATO to get Eclipse Payroll ready for STP2.

Our current timeline for achieving this is as follows:
